Western Prince Whale Watching Adventures

What a memorable experience! Bethany, our captain, was very knowledgeable. We saw seals, sea lions, a sea otter, bald eagle and followed two orcas for about 40 minutes! I loved that it was a smaller boat and it’s great that they have gear for you to wear, including hats and warm gloves too.I highly recommend taking a seaplane out to Friday Harbor. Truly exceptional!

Our tour was wonderful. Our naturalist Chris was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife both skilled and knowledgeable. I was impressed with her knowledge of the individual whales we saw and the anecdotes she shared between sightings made the time fly by. Our captain Bethany was very skilled, in particular her pacing with the whales kept them surfacing in about the same area off the boat which I only realized how easy it made watching, and how hard that must be, after we made it back to shore. The boat itself was a jet boat and was tons of fun to ride and I like that this company chose to use this type of craft in part to reduce the underwater noise and disruption for the animals. All in all an excellent experience and would've been even if we hadn't seen any whales thanks to the skilled crew and beautiful scenery.

Bethany and Ivan were terrific! Very knowledgeable and got us to the orcas quickly. The boat is comfortable. We had a group of 20. Not a bad seat on the boat. The row before the last row has an extra inch of leg space. That was nice. Love that they provided gear to keep us warm and dry. 3 hours was plenty of time for the tour. We saw orcas (T49As), harbor seals, and sea lions. We went on the afternoon tour. Checkin was by 2:20pm. We arrived early and were able to wait and use the restroom at the ferry house. Would recommend this company and would come again in the future!

Captain and mate were top notch. Ivan stayed tuned in all day and got us on two beautiful orca viewings. Chris in her amazing Australian accented voice called out great facts and features. The boat is great! Everyone has the best seat in the house. Second trip with them. We highly recommend them. Don’t forget to tip the staff.

No wonder this company has 5 star ratings, they're amazing at what they do! Captain Ivan and Ala (i believe that was her name) were so knowledgeable about all the wildlife on the San Juan Islands. They keep safety a priority while making sure we see as much as possible. I was pumped finally seeing orcas along with eagles, seals and a sea otter. I wish they had longer tours as I could have stayed on the water all day!
