This was a fantastic day trip! From the moment we were picked up we were welcomed with our knowledgeable guide, Meg! She made us feel comfortable and safe. The scenery was breathtaking,. It’s such a beautiful area and the whole experience was enjoyable. It was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable day on the water. Our lunch was beautifully presented and tasted great too. Our guide is passionate about her work and you can tell in the way she educates you and cheers you on. Thanks Meg and Outdoor Odysseys for a fun family day! We can’t wait to book a trip next summer.

We went on a three day Kayak tour from Smallpox Bay to Stuart Island. It was FANTASTIC. We loaded up kayaks (five doubles, and two guides) with all the food and camping gear we needed for the weekend, and set sail! We had perfect weather and smooth waters (the sounds are fairly protected, much calmer than the open ocean) The guides were really knowledgeable about the currents and where we were going and what we would see. This helped me to feel safe out there. They also worked very hard feeding us and making sure the gear was all in good shape. **Trip Highlights** * Being out in the ocean on a 10' 2 person kayak. * Awesome food! * Night Paddle with bioluminesence (WOW!) * Day Hike across island to Turn Point Lightouse * Fun People * Stops at several small islands. * Seeing seaplanes take off while we had lunch. * Ferry Trip from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. * Public shower after trip in Friday Harbor! * Beers and Oysters at Friday's Crabhouse after the trip **Fitness:** It was I think 12 hours per day rowing on the first/last days. I am reasonably fit, and can swim or run for 30 minutes, but I was TIRED! My arms were a bit sore, but I felt pretty well after the day ended. I would be concerned if you have no exercise habits at all that it would be rough, but if you keep in any kind of shape you should be fine. **Wildlife Sightings:** * Salmon Jumping from the ocean * JellyFish * Bald Eagles * Mouflon Sheep (Cool! Like a big horn!) * Pileated woodpeckers (audio sighting only) * Racoons

An unforgettable San Juan Islands adventure with Eli! We just returned from the 3-day kayak tour with Outdoor Adventures in Washington State, and I can’t say enough great things—especially about our guide, Eli. From start to finish, he was the total package: knowledgeable, professional, and endlessly kind. We never once felt unsafe; Eli’s calm demeanor and confidence made it clear we were in great hands. Our 13-year-old son had the time of his life, and we were so grateful for Eli’s patience, humor, and encouragement. He struck the perfect balance of being a top-tier guide while also giving our family space to connect and enjoy each other. And can we talk about the food?! The website isn’t exaggerating—Eli is a phenomenal chef. Every meal was gourmet, the wine pairings were excellent, and we honestly felt like we were dining at a backcountry bistro. This trip gave us more than just a vacation—it gave our son a chance to see what hard work and leadership can look like up close. Eli’s great attitude never wavered, and he set an incredible example. It was a perfect summer escape and a truly unique family experience. We’re already planning our return. Don’t hesitate—book the trip, and ask for Eli!

Just got back from a 3-day women’s sea kayaking & camp trip and had the best time! Our guides, Tiffany and Caroline, were incredible and truly made the trip extra special. Although challenging, we all always felt safe and encouraged on the water, and have a huge sense of accomplishment now as it was the first time for many of us in the group. Jones Island and everywhere else we stopped was gorgeous and so peaceful. Camping there was a breeze, and the fresh cooked meals were all delicious. Definitely felt pampered even being out in nature all weekend! They offered a range of excursions like the bioluminescence night paddle and a sunset paddle. It was great getting to know everyone, including our guides, around the picnic table and out on the water as well. Outdoor Odysseys made the process stress free and I’m already looking forward to another trip with them in the future!

Such a fantastic day! I did the bioluminescence night tour and a day trip with Outdoor Odysseys. Both were super fun, and the bioluminescence was so beautiful! Even though we did it when the moon was pretty full, the bios were very visible. Our guide, Hannah, was such a trooper- doing most of the heavy lifting with the boats, getting us safely in and out of the water, engaging in some incredible small talk, and guiding us all in near complete darkness! The day trip I also had with guide Hannah, and our group saw a ton of seagulls, a harbor seal, and some pretty incredible fog rolled in at the end which we got to watch cover the island. Lunch was some great sandwiches with plenty of options (and homemade peanut butter!). Hannah also kept us informed about island life, history, and facts about the surrounding environment- she was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this guide group to anyone wanting to see parts of the island you can't see otherwise.
