This tour was the perfect way for us to learn about the native plants and some local history during our family trip to WA. Nina did a great job educating us on interesting facts about the things we encountered on our hike. We did this tour with our 13 yo son and 11 yo daughter, they both loved it! I would highly recommend this tour with Nina!

Couldn't have asked for a better first backpacking experience than I had with Magic Forest Tours! Nina was so knowledgeable on the different tree/plant species, the park, and all things backpacking. I really liked how Nina incorporated educating us about the leave no trace principles, and the tools/supplies you need when going backpacking. Rather than just handing us a packed backpack, she patiently went through each item as we packed it telling us how she packs her backpack, why we need each item, and how we use it. This made me feel like I can do this again on my own and confidently know the necessities when it comes to backpacking. The great thing about MFT too, was that we just showed up with clothing and all the necessary gear/products were provided to us! I didn't have to buy anything new which is great since it was my first time. I would recommend this tour to anyone new to backpacking that wants an expert to be with them and guide them along this amazing experience! Nina was such a great guide who you can tell is beyond passionate about what she is doing, and exceeded in showing us the magic of the forest, and the fun of backpacking!! She truly loves what she does and it makes you love backpacking too.

hands down, the best tour you could ask for in the Olympic peninsula. the guide is very inquisitive and empathic and has all kinds of great knowledge. I am so glad that I booked with magic forest tours, and I will definitely be back again! This experience is also great for dogs, kids, etc

Nina took my pup and I on an incredible hike along the Elwha! She knew all the best trails and we didn’t encounter another soul for almost 5 hours. She was super knowledgeable about the the river and salmon restoration project and I learned a ton. We spent the day snacking on thimble berries, salal berries, and huckleberries and were lucky enough to find some oyster and lobster mushrooms! Nina was wonderful company, a fantastic guide, and was well prepared with extra equipment, snacks, and plant identification books. I will definitely book another tour with her next time I visit the Olympic Peninsula!

Nina was terrific! Very helpful that she has equipment to borrow as well as provided some of the meals and delicious snacks! Being passionate about nature she was incredibly informative about the plants so we learnt a lot as well. Just a generally great upbeat person to spend a couple of days with backcountry camping! Highly recommend.
