Took my dad here for his birthday. He LOVED the steam clams like I expected!! (So good, he kept the sauce for dipping.) We family style shared the seafood fettuccine (fresh handmade pasta, fresh seafood...so good!), the lambchops (so perfectly cooked to a medium rare), the cod (oh so good...firm and flaky!), the cooked carrots (im not a fan of cooked carrots in general...they were cool... mom loved them!), and the mushroom risotto (loooove risotto!). Dessert, all are made in house! We got one of their cheesecakes and their peanut butter pie. Such a satisfying meal! Thanks!!

Literally the best restaurant I've ever been too. The food, the service and setting made for a perfect date night with my wife. This place needs to be studied. Would give them a 6 stars if I could.

Lovely place. I have heard much about it, but the first time we've had a chance to go. Best steak I've ever had. SO tender cooked to perfection, well seasoned, and the blue cheese sauce was delightful. Really good desserts too. We will back!

Gardners is a special place in Downtown Olympia. Family owned and operated. The whole staff there is amazing. We always have a solid meal and enjoy it the moment we walk in the door. This time we sat at the counter since we didn’t have reservations and even at the counter it’s a lovely experience!

We've now been three times, over the past three years, and decided on our way home from the last experience that we will not be back. The food is excellent. Great blends of flavor, new ideas and fresh takes that other restaurants aren't serving. It feels like a finer dining experience than most places you might go. Our concern with the food was the price paid - for the size or type that you get. Breaking down the pre-fix menu for valentines day, 1 shared appetizer (crab dip), two appetizer salads, and two entrees (scallops, pork chop) the price was $180 - with no sides for the entree. Throw in a few glasses of wine, dessert, and gratuity, and our bill was $392. Again, while delicious, neither of us felt filled up when we left. Service is typically good, but in this past experience, we had four different people stopping by the table on average every 8 minutes. It felt like they had overbooked (confirmed possibly with the line at the door on leaving?) and it felt like we were being rushed through courses - with the next course coming out before finishing our last. Lastly, while ambiance is cute, chairs aren't comfortable, a simple rolled napkin with silverware, and a small centerpiece. Not bad by any means, but not worth the additional costs. Like I said, first time we loved it. Second time our food left some to be desired, third time... felt like the price was not worth the experience.
