HIKE SOUTH KAIBAB with **Mark Gallo** GET OUTSIDE… ACHIEVE life goals… LIVE memorable experiences that you will brag about and remember when life gets tough. This trip refreshes your soul and gives you new perspective on how incredible this world really is. Coolest guide, great history and geology lessons, easily doable hiking, delicious snacks, friendly conversation. We did a Jamming hike on the SK early February 2026! We lucked out..perfect weather; bluest skies; very minimal people to contend with. It was a peaceful, quiet, perfectly planned, incredible journey. If you want in person phenomenal views DOWN IN THE GRAND CANYON with all the history and geology and fun… choose Wildland Trekking.

Our Guide - Michael Wickman - and Wildland Trekking made our recent Grand Canyon South Kaibab Trail hike a great and unforgettable experience. We started our Grand Canyon trip with a day hike on the South Kaibab Trail, and Michael Wickman from Wildland Trekking made it unforgettable. Michael went above and beyond, starting with the helpful prep tips he gave us a few days prior. The hike was a 6-mile trek with switchbacks, temperature, and elevation changes, and was more challenging than expected. Michael's kindness, knowledge, enthusiasm, thoughtful conversation, and encouragement made it feel effortless. He has such a positive energy and deep love for the Canyon and nature. The charcuterie lunch he packed was the bomb! By the end, we felt like we'd adopted a new family member. Thank you, Michael — our souls are changed, and this will be a forever memory!

Best of the Smokies and Asheville Inn-Based Trip. This was my third trip with Wildland Trekking and was absolutely wonderful! The accommodations at Dancing Bear Lodge were incredible. I felt spoiled and was pleasantly surprised with a private hot tub at the lodge. Every meal was great, including the ones prepared by our guide, Kyle. Kyle was magnificent and even carried a charcuterie board all the way up the mountain. The hiking of course was great. The views and waterfalls were incredible, but what made the trip special was the people and the overall experience of getting away for a while. I highly recommend Wildland Trekking as a vacation for nature lovers and hikers.

Our guided hike through The Narrows with our guide Diana was top notch. Diana was professional, knowledgeable, and stocked and prepared for our full day wading through the water in the stunning slot canyons. Diana was a great communicator leading up to the trip and we found her personality to be warm and kind. I have been on other lead tours where it feels like the guide is just “doing their job”, this was not the case with Diana. Highly recommend Wildland Trekking and most definitely ask to be booked with Diana. We are looking forward to our next adventure with them in the Spring!

My first trip with Wildland Trekking, womens lodge based to Sedona and Grand Canyon…it was on my bucket list, and this trip well exceeded my expectations. We had great hotels and inns, as well the food was awesome, our hiking picnics were very fun. A memorable trip that checked all my boxes and more. I will definitely use Wildland Trekking again, can’t wait for my next trip!
