We had a wonderful afternoon kayaking around Budd Island and a stop at Hope Island with Ross. We were very last minute, called in morning as we were leaving Seattle on our way to the coast on a bright blue day. Ross was so easy to work with, agreed to take us out whenever would work for us, and we had a stunning afternoon trip. Ross is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and fun, and his gear is in excellent shape. Would love to come back for a sunrise or sunset tour!

My family had the most special afternoon kayaking around Hope Island. Ross and Doug were incredible guides and extremely personable sharing a wealth of information and stories all while making sure we were safe and comfortable. We were honored to kayak alongside Harbor Seals, spot several jellyfish and witness a Bald Eagle catch a salmon and bring it ashore. We wandered Hope Island and listened to bird calls while taking in the quiet majesty of amazing trees and other foliage. We even had a beautiful clear skied day to see the magical Mt Ranier mountain top. It was such a joyful experience! We will most definitely book another tour as soon as we can. We cannot recommend this experience enough.

Ross and Doug do a fantastic job. Had a great time going to Hope Island with a group tour. They were friendly and shared history and factoids about the area and wildlife. Highly encourage people to go whether you are visiting or have lived your whole life here. Plan on coming back for their other tours. Money well spent!

My sister came to Washington to visit me in Olympia and we selected South Sound Kayak Tours for an adventure day. At first I was a little nervous due to my lack of experience. My fears evaporated quickly when we spotted the friendly guides and they offered a basic rundown. Throughout the entire trip, the guides shared details about the animals and trees we spotted. The waters were peaceful and gentle. We had an amazing day. Highly recommend the Hope Island trip.

Enjoyable sunset kayak experience. My teenager and I had a fun couple hour tour in a tandem kayak. We saw seals, herons and other birds. Beautiful sunset and relaxed paddle. Our guide, Ross, led us around the southern part of Budd inlet sharing local information about the area and wildlife. We appreciated him sharing his kayaking skills and knowledge with us and appreciated his easy going and adventurous spirit. Great way to spend an evening and fun way to hang out with my son . We’ll be sure to book another trip with Sound Sound Kayak in the future.
