We did this hike in winter, in January Perfect for snowshoes after a snowstorm. We came maybe a week after the storm. And could just walk up in boots. But for fun’s sake kept the snowshoes on. Parking is busy on weekends because of the ski season. But sunset time is the best time to go on this short and moderate hike.

Greatl trail for snowshoeing. Elevation gain about 1000 from trailhead to lake and distance of about 1.5 miles.

We snowshoed here on Sunday 1st of December. Parking at lot C and D are free but mostly filled up at 9am. There is bathroom at the parking area. Trail was well groomed for backcountry skying and snowshoeing. It was a short hike to the frozen lake but good workout with 1000 feet gain.

10/10 snowshoe. Highly recommend this hike. Short in and out but steep. Would be fun to bring a slide for the way down

The trail to the lake up near the top is a bit hidden, the lake has tons of mosquitos so bring bug spray.
