We had a fantastic tour with Kayak Nisqually. So glad to see something available in the south sound. Sam has a great aptitude for instruction and safety for all skill levels. He is also very knowledgeable about the local environment and history. It was an awesome trip.

My fiancé and I had one of the most magical experiences of our life doing the Sunset & Bioluminescence Kayak Tour! Our tour guide, Robin, was a knowledgeable and entertaining leader on a moonless and cloudless night. The tour begins with a tutorial on land for sea kayaking, which differs from Lake or river kayaking due to the operation of the rudder (and this being a tandem boat). Then we entered the water to catch the sunset and paddled in the smooth waters of Boston Harbor (Olympia). As darkness crept in, the bioluminescence began to glow, and we were ushered to a cove where we could explore the illuminated water (it responds to movement). Between the Milky Way above and the bioluminescence below, we were awestruck! I highly recommend this Sunset Bioluminescence tour, this company: Kayak Nisqually, Robin as a guide, and Boston Harbor Marina as a launch point. Make sure to go during a New Moon phase and wear warm, water-resistant clothes. There are no stopping points once on the water for bathrooms or breaks, so be advised. We planned ahead and ate seafood beforehand at the marina grill, which was good. Bathrooms there are preferential to the bathrooms in the parking lot. This is worth the price at least once in your life. HIGHLY recommend!

This was my second trip with Kayak Nisqually and did the biolum tour. It, again, was absolutely amazing and fun. Sam has extensive knowledge of the area, history, cultures and eras, not to mention the science and ecology of what we were experiencing. We were provided were equipped with safety info, lots of how-to and suggestions to make our time more enjoyable. You don't have to go far to experience serenity and beauty - it's all right here.

We booked a sunset and Bioluminesence tour with Sam and loved it! He’s very knowledgeable and fun while also conscientious! He knows the area so well and so much about the PNW wildlife. We are already looking for another opportunity to book with him. This was a great COVID safe activity!

We had a phenomenal evening! The bioluminescence is indescribable. I took my son and Sam was very patient explaining things to him and discretely helping me due to my larger size. Thank you!
