What a great experience doing the Wild Mushrooms of the Olympic Peninsula – Field Tour with Hood Canal Adventures. The shop was very inviting, the owner was extremely friendly, and they had a great selection of books and other materials. They helped me choose a great book for indentification. Everyone was super friendly! The tour guide was very knowledgable and patient, and it was great to just get out with other people I didnt know to an area I have never been before to see all the cool fungi and mushrooms and nature in general. Would recommend to anyone to give this a try even if your not crazy about mushrooms and mycelium like I am, as there are plenty of other things to see during the hike. A+ experience.

Took part in a 3 hour foraging class in Brinnon WA and learned about antiseptic pain reliever weeds, flowers and berry leaves that can be used for bitter or sweet natural teas, wild lettuces, roots, some edible and none edible mushrooms, how tips of plants have a lot of vitamin C that you can chew on or make into a tea, and other plants that you can use to repel bugs or that can provide sweet smells like vanilla or cinnamon to yourself or your shelter. They do provide other classes and events such as mushroom foraging, kayaking, oyster digs, waterfall hikes and picnics for $70-$125 per person per activity. Activities and events occur during different seasonal months like Forest Foraging is April-September or Mushroom Foraging is during October-November.

My experience with HOOD CANAL ADVENTURES was truly enchanting in every way. We hiked to 3 breathtaking waterfalls that were stunning. After our hike, we stopped for lunch at Pleasant Harbor's Crow's Nest (yes, lunch was included!). A big thank you to Jerry, our exceptional tour guide! Oh, these photos & videos are unfiltered. That's how vivid nature was today! 🤩

My husband and I booked the waterfall hiking tour, and we had the absolute best time! Each waterfall was stunning, the hikes were very beginner friendly, and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Every member of staff we interacted with was so kind and overflowing with knowledge about the area and passion for their community. We loved the pizza we had in Pleasant Harbor and exploring Brinnon after the tour. Can't wait to book our next adventure!

I had a wonderful time at the mushrooming class! The instructor was knowledgeable, engaging, and patient. I walked away from the class with a bounty of knowledge about local mushrooms. Plus, the gift shop had an excellent selection of mushrooming books and equipment. I'd gladly take another class from the folks at Hood Canal Adventures!
