Been backpacking here multiple times now, and it is absolutely beautiful. The section of the PCT around goat rocks is pretty sketchy, especially around some snow patches, but for the most part trails are in good condition and the area is not too crowded. Lots of views of Mt Rainer.

Five stars. This is a real hike. The best parts are earned, but totally worth it. We did 40 miles in 72 hours, spending almost an entire day near Old Snowy just to take it in. Come prepared and don't forget to look up and look around. Highly recommend.

Did the Snowgrass Flats and Goat Lake Loop last weekend. Wildflowers were amazing!

This is one of my most frequented backpacking areas. I have been here at least 5 times and every time has been different. First time there was a lot of snow and we lost the trail pretty quick but still had a great time snow camping. The last time was the first time we got to the "Top" (pano below) of the hike and completed the loop over 3 days. It is a bit of a difficult path with a decent incline the stretches for quite a while. Wouldn't make this your first one if you plan on finishing it. There are many trails lower on the mountain as well.

An amazing hike with picture opportunities you will not believe. Mt Goats and Marmots and views of Mt Adams, Mt Rainier, Mt St. Helens and Old snowy Mountain. You will not be disappointed.
