We had the best time on our excursion with Marty to the Olympic National Park for the ferry ride both ways, snowshoeing, hiking at the Crescent Lake, and a visit to Madison Creek falls. He took great care of us. Snacks, beverages, lunch on the porch of the ranger station at Crescent Lake. It was all really enjoyable. I am not an outdoorsy person but my husband is. When I say I had a great time I am not kidding! We book our excursion as part of our Amtrak vacation package but would book again if we come back to Seattle on our own on another trip. Thank you to Marty and team! Keith and Margot Hoyt

Had a great trip to Mount Rainier last weekend! Marty was great, very patient and knowledgeable about the areas we drove through and the nature and history of the park, including some native history which was most appreciated. There was a lot of snow and rain, and thankfully Marty had extra coats and waterproof pants which saved the day! We got to snowshoe, see two waterfalls and do a final trail at the mountain valley to learn about the different plants, trees, and mushrooms. Highly recommend the tour!

Marty was our guide at Olympic National Park, and honestly we couldn’t have been luckier. We got to see snow at Hurricane Ridge, which was such a surprise and highlight for us. We then stopped at Madison Creek and a small waterfall, then went to Lake Crescent and the Marymere Rain Forest to see a bigger one. As people who live in the city, this whole experience felt very special. The air was so fresh, and everything just felt peaceful. Marty is very professional and patient, and the schedule was customized and comfortable. He’s more like someone who truly loves nature and enjoys sharing it with others, instead of just doing a job. Along the way, he told us a lot about local history, culture, and plants—like wild ginger that smells like lemon, which we definitely would’ve missed on our own. He’s also incredibly well prepared. In the morning, he made us hot drinks with a French-style coffee pot and brought so many snacks. He also had snowshoes, hiking poles, jackets, hats, and gloves ready for us. Lunch was another nice surprise—he even had hot soup with a portable stove, and the tofu sides were really good. Everything was eco-friendly too, with reusable bottles and tableware and no plastic. You can really see the company’s values in these small details. Overall, this was a very meaningful and comfortable trip. We really enjoyed the day and would highly recommend Marty to anyone visiting Olympic National Park.

I had an incredible tour to Mount Rainier today with Evergreen Escapes. Our guide, Lindsay, was absolutely fantastic! He was super friendly, funny, and full of great stories and photography tips that made the day even more enjoyable. He kept the group laughing and made sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. As always, Evergreen Escapes thought of everything: from snacks and a delicious lunch to all the little details that make the day run smoothly. The whole experience was perfectly organized and so much fun. Highly recommend this company and especially Lindsay if you get the chance — can’t wait to book my next adventure with Evergreen! 🌲🏔️

We booked the Olympic Park tour. Marty picked us up from the hotel at the promised time, and after a short introductions with everyone else we went on our way. First we crossed the Puget Sound by ferry, Marty prepared some coffee/hot chocolate and a delicious coofee cake for us for the ride. While we ate he explained a bit about what to expect and about the wildlife and marine life in the area. When we arrived, it took a bit of a drive to get to our destination, but Marty kept the conversation with explanations about the nature and the local communities, as well as a brief history of the native American tribes in the area - we even had a short stop at a local native American community. First we got to see a bit of Elwha river and took a walk to see a small waterfall nearby. Then we kept going to Lake Crescent and got to see it from multiple locations, and even took a small hike to see a bigger waterfall. Later we had a lovely picnic at one of the lake shores, which Marty also provided (the soup was delicious). Next we went to the the Olympic Peninsula and saw some marine life. Unfortunately the tide was high so we couldn't go down to the tide pools, but the views were great nonetheless. We couldn't see the mountains as there was a closure for some reason, but we were out of time anyway as we had to catch the ferry back. Through the adventure Marty kept explaining and answered all our our questions patiently, we even got to try some wild mushrooms and berries together. Marty returned us to our hotel tired but satisfied. We were expecting to hike a bit more, but we got to see so much regardless.
