About Indian Heaven Wilderness
High-elevation lakes and forested ridges characterize this volcanic landscape where hundreds of alpine lakes hide among subalpine meadows and scattered peaks. The relatively easy access to extraordinary alpine terrain makes it a favorite for families seeking mountain scenery without extreme difficulty.

Beautiful lake and forest! Easy to get to, good signage. About a .75 hike walk to the lake and is easy enough for young kids to walk. Recommend bug spray, as the mosquitos and horse flies were pretty bad mid July.

Came out here for a 3 day hike and 2 night camping trip. There were more people than I expected for how challenging some parts of the hike were, but I was carrying a 50 lb pack while doing it. Absolutely gorgeous and every minute of it was awesome.

From Red Mountain fire lookout hiked to Indian Heaven on Oct 2nd. Beautiful lake with the fall color reflection. There were people camped here. We did an out and back day hike in this spectacular nature.

Spent a week long backpacking trip here. It was great! We went at a good time, there were hardly any bugs. This place is just gorgeous! Lakes are beautiful and lots of flowers during the early summer, when we went. Loved the blue water at bear lake. Take the time and visit. It will definitely be worth it!
