What a gem of a space to find on a whirlwind weekend trip to the peninsula. My partner and I decided to stay one night, and then extended it to two. I'm not going to say which room we had because I don't want this secret out of the bag! But it was beautiful, luxurious, private, and was exactly what we needed to relax and rejuvenate. I will add a disclaimer, however, to anyone who has never stayed at an old hotel before. This building was built in the late 1800's, was most likely a brothel at one point (we guessed this based on the fact that one of our rooms for the night had windows facing the interior stairwell), and has a ton of charm to it. But if you're looking for pristine accommodations, then go somewhere else. The room is drafty, even though the gas fireplace heated well, which meant we were serenaded by the wind as it whistled our first morning. The interior stairwell is kinda crooked from more than hundred years of foundation settling, the lighting is overhead and a bit glaring, but there were skylights in our rooms that made all the difference. Ultimately, it was perfect for us - clean and comfy beds, Mary at the front desk was lovely, and we will be back for sure. But if you have high expectations, then skip this place. Better for us anyways ;)

Great location, easy walk to all of downtown. Vintage vibe, building has been there since 1889 or something like that. Big windows with lots of light. Super comfy bed. Large Smart TV your can log into your favorite streaming service on. Small refrigerator with a small freezer. Not fancy, cozy and reasonably priced. Mary at the front desk was very nice. Will likely return.

Stayed here for one night of a weekend getaway and would definitely return. The lady at the desk was very helpful with a late check in and providing recommendations for local restaurants. Loved the old historical building too. Sure the rooms are dated etc, but for the price it was great. Would stay here again.

My first night in Washington state was spent at the Monarch Hotel. I’m very satisfied with my choice and would do it again. The hotel is very eclectic and basic. We had a room on the third floor to which there is no elevator. Be prepared for that if you have heavy luggage. They also have limited plugs for charging device devices. The bathrooms were beautiful and the water was hot! The beds were comfortable and everything was sparkly clean. I only wish I had more time to stay instead of just one night

Located right on the main road it was difficult to find parking around the building that wasn't a 2 hr, or no overnight, though we were told we could ignore those as long as we stayed at the hotel. The rooms are in good condition for a historic building. The only thing I found truly odd was the height of the door knob and key hole, it's two feet off the ground. On bended knee I opened our door for the room. Other than that it was a good stay.
