Our stay at The Bishop Hotel was nothing short of incredible. The property is beautifully designed, intimate without feeling small, and thoughtfully curated in a way that makes you immediately exhale when you walk through the door. What truly sets it apart is how genuinely dog friendly they are. Traveling with our pup felt seamless and welcomed, not just accommodated. That kind of hospitality matters. We also spent time at Bottle Shop, the hotel’s restaurant, and it was exceptional. The wine list is beautifully curated, the food is seasonal and thoughtful, and the atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and elevated. It became our nightly ritual after long days exploring the Peninsula. The Bishop is the kind of place that anchors an entire trip. We left feeling rested, reset, and already planning our return.

I was excited to stay at the Bishop. The prior night, I stayed at one of the budget hotels down by the shipyard and left with no complaints. Wanted to "treat" myself to a night in town, which was more than double the cost. Room 19 was spacious, but offered no ambiance and little comfort for relaxing. The couch was joke. While the cafe was lively, the rest of this historic hotel was largely devoid of warmth, character, care. There were no curtains on the living room windows. The place smelled odd. The entry through the door was confounding -- no thought given to ease for a traveler with luggage. It had the shameless up-sell and add-on model I have seen in many other small hotels/B&Bs. There is no proper lobby, so I had to wait in a line of thirsty patrons in the cafe to checkin. $10 to park in their spacious lot, in a small town with ample street parking, offended me. When I pay extra to stay somewhere advertising itself as nice, I expect to get a little something in return. The exchange at the Bishop felt very one-sided.

We booked the Ground Floor Suite (Pet Friendly). The listing describes the room as having "special features such as jetted tubs" and lists a fireplace in the amenities. We were expecting a cozy private feeling space. We checked in to room 25 and found no fireplace, no tub, and in general a suite that did not match the pictures or nicer points of the description. Noise from the kitchen of The Bottle Shop started being audible through the wall of the bedroom pretty quietly around 7:30am on both Sat and Sun. It picked up to fairly constantly audible around 8:15. Kitchen noise continued through the bedroom wall in the evening until around 9pm on Saturday. The location was great, the staff was nice, brunch at The Bottle Shop was good. But after paying boutique prices for a very budget feeling experience I don't think we'll be back.

My husband and I stayed at the Bishop Hotel on our recent anniversary trip and man were we impressed! The room itself was clean, cute and spacious and my god the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in my life. So comfy we took got the information from the wonderful people at the front desk! The hotel is right in downtown so you can walk to all of the shops and restaurants. We really had the best stay and when we come back to Port Townsend we know exactly where we'll be staying! Thank you to everyone at the Bishop for such a lovely experience!

We had an amazing stay at The Bishop Hotel! The beds were super comfortable and the suite was really spacious. The hotel has so much historic charm, which makes it feel really special. The lobby is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting, and sets the tone for the whole stay. The staff are all lovely, and special thanks to Ayla, who was incredibly accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for us. The bottle shop was such an unexpected highlight, I wasn’t expecting to see allocated wines from my favorite winemaker in Umbria in PT! Such a unique and fun selection. Overall, The Bishop Hotel is the perfect mix of comfort, character, and thoughtful hospitality. Highly recommended!
