Guest Reviews
"I stay at The Prairie Hotel frequently, and it truly feels like a home away from home. The rooms are always clean, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. Its location is perfect—within easy walking distance of Yelm Cinemas and great local dining like the UpTown Lounge. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff. They treat every guest like family, but their kindness goes far beyond standard service. It’s rare to find that level of genuine compassion in the hospitality industry today. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Yelm area or heading toward Mt. Rainier."

My stay at the Prairie hotel was wonderful! Amy, one of the staff members, was incredibly helpful & kind. The room was beautiful, very clean, & a very peaceful respite after a long trip. So grateful! I will definitely come back if I return to the area. Thank you so much Prairie Hotel!

UPDATE!!! I'm fairly certain the employee that was incapacitated was the owner. I have proof of my stay AND proof of said event. Just talked to the owner. She tried to get me to remove this review. She tried to claim one of her employees experienced an "invasion of privacy". To be clear, the office door was fully open. The employee was asleep, halfway on a couch, in full view of anyone standing in the entryway of the hotel. No door was opened by myself nor anyone in my party. We merely knocked on the door. It's insanely frustrating to be locked out of our hotel room, not be able to find any staff, and then get accused of invading someones privacy while they are sleeping where anyone could have caught them. Stay away from this one guys... !!!!!!SLEEPING STAFF!!!!!!!! Where to start. I have stayed here a few times. It's been fine. It's a lower end hotel, somewhat smelly rooms. It shows it's age. But this most recent stay I was astonished. The smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby blasts you when you first walk in. The gal at the front desk was rude and took her time. She acted as if guests were a nuisance. And for some reason the elevator was out of operation. Get to the room and it also smells strongly of cigarettes. The beds are not great and the pillows are even worse. Our next night we returned to the hotel to find that our keys were not functional. They wouldn't let us into the building or the room. We went to the front desk to find it vacant. We rang the bell, knocked and even called the hotel. No answer. My pregnant wife and I stood there for upwards of 10 minutes. Finally we poked our heads in the office across the hall. The employee was asleep on the couch! She was half hanging off the couch as if she had passed out. When she finally came to she was confused and disoriented. We finally got our keys sorted out and headed back to our smelly room. When checking out the next morning the staff seemed uninterested in my attempts to contact a manager. Unfortunately this is the only hotel in Yelm, but i will absolutely be staying outside of town.

We booked our room for two days but because we didn’t show up on the first day they canceled our reservation and charged our card anyways so when we showed up for the second night, they said they couldn’t keep our reservation and I would have to make a new one worst customer service and absolutely terrible policy with a hotel that isn’t even that good of quality There isn’t really a lot of amenities and it’s really dainty and dirty… soooo that’s about that.
