We stayed here once before, but this was our first chance to really explore the hotel and downtown. The hotel itself is excellent, with character and charm that impresses the longer you stay. The staff were lovely and warm. Steven at the front desk was particularly nice, answering all our questions and helping us out. There are so many cool features, but my favorite was the library / billiards room. Literally right out the front door, there are cool shops and great eateries. I hope we can stay again, on our next visit. Bellingham is a wonderful town and Hotel Leo is a gem!

This hotel is exceptional! It will appeal to all types of travellers including US & international. It evokes many positive emotions. The hotel is charming, & historical & strategically positioned in downtown Bellingham. Loved my room. It was very clean. The tea & coffee in the room were superb. I interacted with a total of 4 employees including the Manager & they were all just lovely, very warm, gentle & friendly! I cant say enough about this hotel. I’ll definitely be returning.

This is the only place I stay in Bellingham. What’s important to me: - cleanliness - friendly teams - central locations What’s not important to me: - fancy, shiny, new - utter quiet I’ve been a guest at least half a dozen times and have stayed in their apartment- style suites and tiny studios. The rooms are clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The smallest studio is great for one person that has plans outside of the hotel. The apartments are very spacious and super comfortable for a family. The hotel team is SO nice and SO kind, and that has been a constant. They helped me find a larger room to accommodate a family emergency. The hotel is in the middle of a college town hub with bars and restaurants. The building is not soundproof and you will hear boisterous Bellinghamsters at night, and if you’re a light sleeper, trains. I love that, but it might not be your cup of tea.

Nice rooms but fixtures need repairs and updates. The shower head in my room was detached from the wall, and the water that came out of the faucet was brown (plumbing repairs underway). It would’ve been nice to be offered clean linens after cleaning up the brown water mess, or maybe some kind of incentive to return, but the gal kind of shrugged off the issues with a light (and very polite) apology. Being from Japan where customers’ experiences are of utmost importance it was a little disappointing. That said, great location, lovely foyer to hang out, and comfortable linens.

One of the standout experiences at Hotel Leo is the Amendment 21 Bar, where the true star is bartender Krystine. Her mixology skills are nothing short of impressive. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail or something more adventurous, Krystine knows how to craft the perfect drink tailored to your taste. Beyond her impressive skills behind the bar, she exudes a friendly and welcoming vibe, making every guest feel special. Her passion for her craft shines through in every interaction, and she’s always ready with a great recommendation or a story that enhances your experience.
