My husband and I usually stay in the traditional crowded hotels but for a special event, I wanted to treat us to something that was different and enjoyable. After days of searching, I decided on Gallatin River Lodge, and I really wanted to use the bathtub so I booked us Room 1 which was right next to the check-in station on the ground floor. My husband and I were thrilled with the choice when we arrived and the room was fantastic! Unfortunately we did not spend much time in there until we came back from our event which ended late. I never got to relax in the bathtub, and couldn't even use it in the morning as by the time we gave up trying to get any rest, we decided to leave. The stay left us unhappy due to the fact that there was an elephant wearing cement blocks for shoes stomping around on the floor in the room above us ALL night (as my husband put it), up until early hours of the morning. We BARELY slept, were miserable and couldn't get out of there fast enough. The experience was ruined by the guests in the room above us. We would stay again as the location was great and the room was really unique and comfortable. But painful lessons were learned. We would NEVER stay on the ground floor again. Maybe one day we will try it again, but it won't be anytime soon. Ironically enough, I kept getting text messages a couple of days after our 1 night stay reminding me about accessing the building if we returned late at night...

I rented GRL's Library room for an all-day meeting. There were 7 of us. It was the perfect setting for the type of meeting we had and Kirsi's attention to our needs was spot on. Dinner afterwards in their private area was also perfect. Made we think that I should be eating dinner at GRL more often. Thanks for providing such a wonderful venue.

The Lodge is a wonderful, cozy place to stay. During a recent stay there, we took a Winter Wildlife Tour offered by Trail Guides Yellowstone. It was fantastic! Brian picked us up at the lodge and we drove to Yellowstone. He had tea and hot chocolate, soda, water and a variety of snacks to enjoy on the ride. He provided lots of information about Yellowstone ......he's got good stories! Brian is very knowledgeable about the wildlife.....and passionate about nature! We saw bison, elk, coyote, mule deer, bald eagles....while we were not lucky enough to see a wolf, we were thrilled with the wildlife we did see. Brian was very patient and willing to stop for us to take pictures (and go through the visitors center). A delicious picnic lunch was provided as part of the tour. We ate while looking out at breathtaking views of the countryside. I would highly recommend booking a tour with this company.

Our family recently had the pleasure of celebrating our daughter’s graduation from Montana State University at the beautiful Gallatin River Lodge, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. This lodge came highly recommended by my brother, who hosted his wife’s 50th birthday celebration here, and it exceeded every expectation. We rented four of the hotel rooms, which made the entire stay feel like a private family retreat. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed, and perfectly suited for a multi-day family gathering. What made the experience so special was the time spent simply being together. Evenings were capped off with cigars around the outdoor fire, drinks from the bar in hand, and great conversations under Montana’s big sky. During the day, we enjoyed the peaceful setting, fishing, and just relaxing on the property—it was the perfect balance of celebration and downtime. The atmosphere at Gallatin River Lodge is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly Montana. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and everything felt easy and natural, allowing us to focus on celebrating a major milestone as a family. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion—or simply want an exceptional Montana getaway—I can’t recommend Gallatin River Lodge highly enough. It was the perfect setting to celebrate our daughter’s achievement, and we will absolutely return.

Perfect location to head to Big Sky for skiing and right down the street is the Bozeman Hot Springs. Our room was perfect for a ski getaway with a fireplace and outdoor path to the sauna. Breakfast was provided in the mini fridge for us to pack and take to the ski resort. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for adults and families.
