⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and I recently stayed at Alderbrook Resort & Spa on Hood Canal, and the experience was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, the service at Alderbrook Resort & Spa was exceptional—every staff member was friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated to making our stay special. The views of Hood Canal are breathtaking, and the entire Alderbrook property is beautifully maintained. Whether you’re walking along the waterfront, relaxing in the spa, or enjoying dinner at the restaurant, everything about this Washington resort feels peaceful and well thought out. The amenities, environment, and overall atmosphere are easily a 100/100. A special shoutout to Michelle and Joyce at the restaurant—they were exceptional servers and made our dining experience even better. If you visit Alderbrook Resort, request them if you can—you’ll thank me later. One fun adventure we did while staying here was driving about 30 minutes to the High Steel Bridge. Standing out there and looking down was honestly terrifying but unforgettable, and it made for a really unique experience during our trip. If you’re looking for a luxury resort in Washington for a romantic getaway or relaxing weekend on Hood Canal, Alderbrook is hard to beat. My wife and I left feeling refreshed and grateful for the experience. This place truly has a special spot in our hearts, and we’re already looking forward to coming back for years to come.

First I'll tell you something every local knows: you don't go to the Alderbrook for quiet relaxation. For some reason, it's become a family and event destination. This is strange because it doesn't seem laid out for that purpose. We were gifted a night here and figured we'd see if that still held true. On one hand you have impressive, updated rooms with reading nooks, chase lounges, and small decks with chairs for two. The lobby is full of soft places to sit and a massive fireplace with mezzanines sporting high back chairs. The grounds have quiet water features and picturesque lawns overlooking the hood canal. On the other hand, the Alderbrook is anything but quiet. Perplexingly constant children running around and loud events give the grounds an atmosphere somewhere between an all-star Disney World resort and a Vegas casino hotel. The front end is the biggest positive, as the face staff are friendly and courteous. You can tell that they have focused on bettering that portion of the house. I considered giving it 2 stars, but bumped it to 3 because of the staff who deserve recognition. Overall the Alderbrook smacks of lack of direction and no collaboration between various departments. Does it want to be Gene Juarez or the Great Wolf Lodge? It doesn't work as both. Since the cost is so high and the location is somewhat remote, I wouldn't recommend the Alderbrook for anything beyond a wedding venue.

Incredible resort. So beautiful and peaceful. friendly staff, comfortable rooms , amazing pool . we love coming here with kids for a day or two to unwind. perfect place to relax. last time we got a two bedroom cabin. It is very well laid out even though it might be considered smaller. It accommodated six of us perfectly. Took a short walk down to the pool in bathrobes and slipper, which they provide. Spend a good 2 1/2 hours alternating between the pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna, as well as just sitting down and relaxing by the beautiful tropical plants they have throughout. They have the restaurant on site., the views are incredible just as the rest of the resort . They had a great selection of dishes and wine. We had dinner at the restaurant and one night and the second night took room service- delivered . Both times the food was really good. In the evening ,we took all the kids down by the firepits. They have s’mores kits at the front desk(the fancy kind). Kids really enjoyed that. Alderbrook is really an experience not just a hotel. Will definitely be back again.

We had our wedding at Alderbrook in October 2025 and it was just the best experience. The folks that helped us with our room block were responsive, flexible, and organized. The space itself is gorgeous and so well taken care of. Jiana was our main contact throughout the planning process, and she was so lovely to work with! She really went above and beyond, and was so thoughtful about our experience. The whole event/catering team was incredible, and we were so impressed with the food and drinks, and all the tiny details that went into making it all beautiful and delicious. Our guests still talk about how incredible the whole weekend was- this is truly a special place to celebrate with loved ones. Forever memories! Thank you, Jiana, Liv, and the whole Alderbrook team.

This resort is a great local stay for those from Seattle area. Just about 1.5-2 hr drive we were so grateful to arrive to a nice lodge room (creek side double queen). It was VERY spacious for a "hotel" room. It had everything we were looking for. Off season (went for Veterans day-Nov 2 nights) We almost felt like we had our own private pool/jacuzzi and spa. Grounds are well done and nice layout of the resort. We at in the hotel restaurant for breakfast one day and dinner another. Activities for kids included the nautical flag scavenger hunt and the geo-caching hike throughout the grounds. It was perfect activity. We spent one afternoon golfing at the local golf/yacht club- again perfect weather in Nov and we were the only group out there so it felt special. Beautiful scenery from course. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pits and smores. We will recommend and hopefully come again in off season!
