Up Close With Reindeer—A Leavenworth Experience You’ll Never Forget The Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is an absolute must-do and easily one of the most memorable experiences in the area. Located just a quick five-minute drive from downtown Leavenworth, this farm will completely blow your mind. You may have seen reindeer at a zoo or farm before, but this is nothing like that—this is a truly interactive, hands-on experience you won’t forget. Your visit begins with a short video presentation that introduces the history of the family-owned farm. Every member of the family is involved, and their passion for what they do is genuinely endearing. You’ll also learn some fascinating reindeer facts—like how reindeer are vegetarians and, in winter, eat lichen exclusively. Even more impressive is their incredibly strong sense of smell, which allows them to locate lichen buried deep beneath the snow. The farm has two designated interaction areas—one for parents with children and another for adults—to ensure guest safety and prevent anyone from accidentally getting poked by antlers. Each visitor is given a small cup of feed, and the reindeer eagerly approach. Their muzzles are surprisingly soft, and the food disappears almost instantly—followed by hopeful looks for more! While it’s tempting to keep feeding them, the family is thoughtful about maintaining the reindeers’ health, weight, and overall safety, which is completely understandable. Before you leave, be sure to stop by the gift shop, where you’ll find fun souvenirs and great apparel to remember your visit. This experience is popular for good reason, so reservations are highly recommended. If you’re visiting Leavenworth, don’t skip this—this is the kind of experience that stays with you long after the trip ends. 🦌✨

was a fun experience, good to spend time with the reindeers in a well kept enclosure, though other things could still be improved. would be nice to have a tap water to wash our hands after petting rather than a sanitizer :)

Such a fun experience! An activity that anyone of any age will enjoy. Kids or not, I recommend visiting the farm for the atmosphere and obviously to see the Reindeer! We paid for the tour and I was pleasantly surprised how well organized and educational it was. Feeding and petting the reindeer was a highlight. They appear healthy, well cared for, and have enough space to move away from guests If they need it. The staff are very friendly and are willing to take great photos of you and your family. They are kind and very professional. The Barn/Gift shop is well thought out and I loved the incorporation of antique and historical items. Overall; I was very impressed with the organization and atmosphere of the Farm. Make a reservation in advance as the tours sell out often!

Highly recommend this family friendly experience! We visited late November, beautiful weather and Santa was there. It is clear how much the staff cares for the animals and the educational element was great. The animals are so sweet and magical. The shop is adorable and has great souvenir options. There is food onsite as well.
